- General Rules
Upon registration, player(s) will be inserted to their respective division ranking list. Players set up ladder matches by challenging other players up to 5 positions above their rank (E.g. No.10 (player A) can challenge up to No.5 (player B)). If the challenger wins the match, the challenger will take the spot of the higher ranked player, and all players between will move down by 1 spot. (Same example: if player A wins, player A becomes No. 5, player B becomes No.6. Previously No.6 moves down to No.7. Previously No.7 moves down to No.8 and so on.) - Challenge rules
- Higher ranked player. Higher ranked player(s) may only be challenged once a week, and should accept the first challenge received. Once a challenge is accepted, the higher ranked player need not accept another challenge for the rest of the week (up till Sunday) but is able to do so if desire.
- Challenger. A challenger can challenge one player at a time and should complete the match before challenging the next player. There is no limit to how many matches the challenger plays a week. However, a challenger can only challenge the same player for a maximum of once every 2 weeks.
- Scheduling Matches
Matches are to be primarily scheduled on Mondays, and Wednesday as a secondary day. Matches can be scheduled on other days if both players agree. Once a challenge is accepted, the match should be sent on the chat group [e.g. (Date of Match) A vs B] Results of matches should reported promptly after match concluded. [e.g. (Date of Match) A def. B 6-4, 4-6, 1-0(7)]. - Match Frequency
A match must be played at least once every 14 days. Should a player have no match played for 14 days, the player(s) ranking will drop by one spot. - Court & Balls
Primarily, the challenger(s) will book the court and bring a new can of balls for the upcoming game. However, if the higher ranked player(s) is able to provide the court, the match may also be played at the higher ranked players’ court. Cost of court (if any) and new can of balls are to be shared equally amongst the players. Match winner will take home the can of balls. - Match Format
Matches will be played to the best of 3 tie-break sets. At 6 games all, a 7 point tie-break will be played. If the match score ties at 1 set all, a 3rd set will be played as one game of 10-point tie-break. All matches are played with ITF tennis rules. Format may be changed at the league coordinator’s discretion. - Warm Up
Warm ups should be kept to 10 minutes. Players should facilitate the warm ups and allowing time for all strokes. - Playoffs
At the end of the season, top players will participate in a knock-out tournament-style playoff. Prizes to be awarded to winners. - Code of Conduct
Players are expected to uphold good tennis etiquette, showing respect for their opponents and the game itself. Unsportsmanlike conduct may result in penalties or disqualification from the league. - Weather & Cancellations
In the case of inclement weather, matches may be postponed. Scoring will resume from where the match had stopped.
